Fall Orchestra Camp 2015 – A Fantastic Success!
This past weekend was a great musical and team-building experience for everyone! We are thrilled that all the kids had a wonderful time and that they grew as musicians and leaders in their orchestra community. Your donations made this past weekend’s events possible! Check-out our Facebook Page for some memories of this past weekend’s events.
Last Week of Bruster’s NYC Trip Fundraiser
Keep-up the good work selling coupon booklets to help pay for your trip. Please stop by the Orchestra Room this week on Tuesday morning at 7:40 to check-out more coupon booklets or to turn-in your money. Friday is the last day to turn-in either monies collected or unsold booklets. You may turn in any combination of cash and checks (made out to LHSOA) on these days. DO NOT put your money in the LHSOA lock-box.
We Have Made Progress, 51%, But We Can Do Better!
Following last week’s plea for better participation in donating to the LHSOA, some of you answered the call; yet we still have a long way to go in order to achieve our goal of having 100% of orchestra families donate at a level most comfortable for their family. Please remember that our cost to bring orchestra camps and other programs to our kids is about $150 per student for the year. Let’s keep the momentum going! Please go to the LHSOA Registration Website and let’s do this for our orchestra!
Formal/Casual Concert Attire
Everyone should have placed their order for concert attire. If you have not done this, get ‘er done! You may download the order form here, or you may visit the uniform section on our website for more detailed information.
Our Website – www.lhsoa.org All The Info You Want!
We continue to field many questions on all the great things our orchestra is doing this year, and we promise to address each and every question from our orchestra family. We do encourage you to explore our LHSOA Website where you will find almost everything you want to prepare for upcoming events, to complete forms, donate as an individual member, inquire about a business sponsorship, and more. Have a comment, email our webmaster Ajit Kahaduwe, he would love to hear from you.
Spirit of Volunteerism – We Need You!
As you have seen thus far, we have many orchestra events throughout the year, along with LHSOA sponsored enrichment and social activities. We could really use your time and talents – if we all give just a little, we can accomplish a lot! Please contact Ida Anderson to explore how you can give a bit of time to our orchestra.
Host a Visiting Young Musician in Your Home, Tues – Sept. 29th
The FIU Symphony Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of Uruguay will swing through Georgia in September. We seek host families to lodge two or more young musicians for a night, which has been a blast for our orchestra kids in the past. There will be a concert as well on Monday, September 28th. Please contact Ida Anderson for more information or to host some of the kids.
