Don’t miss the bus, get your $225 deposit turned-in by September 2nd!

Last Week of Bruster’s NYC Trip Fundraiser

Keep-up the good work selling coupon booklets to help pay for your trip. Please stop by the Orchestra Room this week on Monday and Wednesday at 7:40 to check-out more coupon booklets or to turn-in your money. You may turn in any combination of cash and checks (made out to LHSOA) to Amy Warner on these days.  DO NOT put your money in the LHSOA lock-box. Final money and undistributed coupon books are due Friday, Sept. 4th at 5:00 before Orchestra Camp begins. If you have already turned-in a signed LHSOA Bruster’s Fundraising Form, you don’t need to turn in another. Some of you will have earned over $200 towards your trip fees – Wow!

Formal/Casual Concert Attire

Students had clothing measurements taken and they have their sizes for their formal-wear. Orders need to be placed by the end of next week to ensure they are properly outfitted by the first concert.  You may download the order form here, or you may visit the uniform section on our website for more detailed information.  Didn’t order a casual concert t-shirt?  You have one more chance – bring a $15 check made out to LHSOA to camp on Friday.  T-shirts will be sold until sizes run-out.

Spirit of Volunteerism – We Need You!

As you have seen thus far, we have many orchestra events throughout the year, along with LHSOA sponsored enrichment and social activities.  We could really use your time and talents – if we all give just a little, we can accomplish a lot!  Please contact Ida Anderson to explore how you can give a bit of time to our orchestra.

Host a Visiting Young Musician in Your Home, Tues – Sept. 29th

The FIU Symphony Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of Uruguay will swing through Georgia in September.  We seek host families to lodge two or more young musicians for a night, which has been a blast for our orchestra kids in the past.  There will be a concert as well on Monday, September 28th.  Please contact Ida Anderson for more information or to host some of the kids.
