Its a Barrage! April 18th, 7pm

Get ready to be blown away!  The Lassiter High School Orchestra Association proudly presents Barrage 8, a high energy electric string ensemble concert. The “8” in the name represents a re-imagining of the string octet: 5 violins, viola, cello and double bass. This instrumentation drives a rich and powerful sonic palette that further explores the musical diversity in the Barrage 8 compositions and arrangements. Purchase advance tickets here : LHSOA Barrage, Adults $16 and Students $11.

This concert is also a fundraiser for your Lassiter High School Orchestra Association, so bring friends and family. We anticipate a large crowd, so buy early!  All of our orchestra students will sit together in orchestra center.  Plus, the Barrage musicians will conduct a workshop for our students the afternoon of the show.

We are in for a “Royal” Treat

Lieutenant Colonel Graham Jones started his military career as a musician in the Royal Artillery Band, and held the prestigious position of Director of Music, Coldstream Guards – a position unequaled in British Army music.  Col. Graham was eventually appointed Sr. Director of the Household Division serving the British Royal Family before retiring from the army in 2011 following 40 years of service.  Graham Jones will be at Lassiter High School on Wednesday, April 20 to provide clinics and master classes to all of our orchestra members, followed by a presentation in our concert hall at 1:30 the same day. This program is funded by your Lassiter High School Orchestra Association; hey, that’s all of us!

Time to Celebrate!

Let’s party!  This is a special time for our orchestra to celebrate a great year of music, fellowship, and accomplishment; and we will recognize our senior musicians as they continue their musical journeys beyond high school.

Please make sure you have Saturday evening, May 14th blocked-out on your calendars for this event.  Parents are welcome to attend the dinner and to enjoy watching the students have a good time reflecting on their year.  We will again hold this event at the Cherokee Conference Center at The Bluffs in Canton (just off of Riverstone Parkway), a great venue.  Details on purchasing tickets are forthcoming.
