It’s hard to believe how fast this school year is going! I hope everyone had a restful spring break. Since our return, we have been working hard to prepare our final concert. This is our last big weekend, so all
student instruments should go home and students should be practicing and putting final touches on all of their music!

Experience the magic of cinema come to life in at spring orchestra concert, "A Night at the Movies and More!,” next Thursday, April 25, at 7:00 PM in the Lassiter Concert Hall. Embark
on a musical journey through the silver screen as our talented musicians transport you to iconic film landscapes, unforgettable melodies, and even some pop/rock! From sweeping orchestral scores to beloved melodies, our repertoire promises
an unforgettable evening of cinematic splendor.
Our program includes music from Yellowstone, Titanic, The Greatest Showman, Pocahontas, Tangles, Mulan, Alice in Wonderland, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, The Avengers, and music of the Beatles, Bon Jovi, and Deep Purple There will also be a visit from The Barber of Seville! Join
us as we celebrate the power of music to evoke emotion and ignite imagination, promising an fun evening filled with timeless melodies and unforgettable performances.

Annual Awards Banquet
Come celebrate the exceptional talents and achievements of the Lassiter Orchestra at our Annual Awards Banquet, taking place on Saturday, May 11, from 5:30 to 8:00 PM at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
This evening will highlight the dedication and passion of our students, parents, and supporters who have contributed to another remarkable year of musical excellence.
Join us for an elegant evening filled with delectable cuisine, heartfelt speeches, and the joyous camaraderie of our orchestra students. We will honor the outstanding accomplishments of our musicians, recognizing our senior class,
and eat!

Students eat for free, but must RSVP to claim their seat.
Parents and other family members must purchase tickets for $25 each. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.lassiterorchestra.org/banquet.
The deadline for RSVP’s and ticket orders is Friday, May 3.

Orchestra Leadership Team Applications for 2024-2025

Dr. Laux is accepting applications for next year’s student leadership team. Interested students should complete the application form no later than Wednesday, May 1.

After our Spring Concert, we will focus on forming small ensembles like duets, trios, and quartets. This works very well within the confines of the May schedule with all of the students in and out for testing, etc. For
their semester exam, students will perform their small ensemble music for the class.
