It’s Concert Time!!
I’m so excited for the orchestra’s Fall Concert TOMORROW, Sept. 21 at 7:30 PM! Each orchestra will perform a brief skills demonstration and two musical selections. The theme of our concert is The Great Outdoors! Our “outdoors” pieces include: Cedar Hollow, Appalachian Sunrise, To Tame the Raging Rapids, and The Elements. I know you’ll enjoy it!
Students should arrive at 6:45 PM and the hall will open at 7:15 PM.
SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT PARKING: The LHS Marching band will be in the parking lot until 7:00 PM. Parking will be limited until they have cleared out. Please do not arrive until 7:10 PM or later to avoid congestion due to the lack of parking.
One other note – the stadium parking lot will not be as full. If you are able to walk from there, it may be a safe bet.
Spirit Night at Bruster’s Ice Cream – TOMORROW!
Don’t you deserve a sweet treat after the concert tomorrow? Head to Bruster’s Ice Cream and mention the LHS orchestra. The LHSOA will get a portion of the proceeds!
Uniform reminders
In addition to the black gown or black pants/shirt/tie, please don’t forget BLACK shoes and socks! We want to look as good as we sound. :-)
Concert Sign Out Sheets
At the end of the concert, students will be required to sign out in the orchestra room. The sign out sheets will be available once all of the equipment has been put away and return to the orchestra room or it’s appropriate place.
North Georgia Honor Orchestra A Success!
Congratulations to Holden Cook, Diana Byington, Jaydon Waid, and Juan Orduz-G for their performance at KSU in the North Georgia Honor Orchestra last Saturday! We are grateful for your representation of Lassiter and hope you had a wonderful experience!
Fall Concert Self-Assessment
On Friday, September 22 students will complete a self-assessment of the fall concert during class. They will need a phone or other device to complete the form as we listen to our concert audio.

Program Book Advertisements
Starting last year we began printing a beautiful program book to pass out at our concerts. The LHS Orchestra Program Book provides students, parents, and other concert attendees with information about the orchestra program and a beautiful orchestra keepsake for the year.
The Program Book also serves as an important fundraising source for the LHS Orchestra through the sale of advertisements. Advertisements can come in the form of personal ads from parents honoring their student or advertisements from local businesses and corporations.
The program book will be distributed at the Winter, Pre-LGPE, Masterworks, and Spring of concerts and all sponsors will also be listed on our website. Student Fee
Dear Parents: The director and the LHSOA board is asking for a $150 fee to be paid by September 1. This fee can be paid on our website at www.lassiterorchestra.org —> Support Us. The fee covers all classroom supplies, equipment, technology, sheet music, outside clinicians/conductors, sectional coaches, classroom rewards, and social events that are held throughout the year.
