Welcome Back!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Break! I had the opportunity to travel to Anchorage, Alaska to conduct their All-State orchestra. It was a wonderful experience! The students worked hard and we made some
fantastic music. After that I was able to spend the rest of the week with family & friends.

Winter Concert
It’s hard to believe that our Winter Concert is just a week away! Please mark your calendars for Tuesday, December 5 at 7:00 PM in the Concert Hall. The theme of the concert is JOY! We will perform a variety
of orchestra music, and holiday favorites. Each group will perform two selections, then classes will collaborate on a few. It will be a nice evening of music!
Students should plan on arriving around 6:15 PM in full concert black uniform.
Christmas Tree donation??
Our classroom Christmas tree is in rough shape. It’s not quite as bad as the famous Charlie Brown tree, but it is losing its needles badly and the stand is broken. If anyone has a tree (pre-lit or not)
and lights, we would appreciate the donation. We also need ornaments. Please let me know if you are able to donate a tree. (We just need one)
Practice Vlog #4 and Section Pass Off
Practice Vlog #4 was assigned today in class and will be due no later than Monday, December 4. Students should choose a portion of their music to practice (something they are struggling with) along with a specific, attainable
goal for that section of music.
All students will be required to complete a section “pass off” during sectional time this Friday.
Final Exams
The 1st semester orchestra final exam is a 100 question multiple choice exam that covers musical knowledge and terminology. It will be given a study guide and we will go over it and study together in class after our concert is
over. Please see the final exam schedule below.
Poinsettia Pick-Up
Our poinsettia plant pick up will be on Thursday, December 6 from 4 o'clock to 6:00 PM. Parents will drive up to the Loop right in front of the band building and students will help load the plants into vehicles. More details coming
soon, but please mark your calendars.
Home Practice
It is imperative that students are practicing regularly at home in order to be prepared for rehearsals. Remember — your daily homework is to be prepared with NRB. Happy “NRBing!”
