Rehearsal Reflection

*the tempo was very good with the eighth notes
*I liked the pizzicato sections
*the dynamics could have been better utilized during the eighth notes such as in measures 1 – 16
*The tempo began to get more and more messed up towards the end specifically measures 96 – 104
We were not together in measures 27-29 or in measure 109
1st violins could have better intonation at measures 73-86
We did good on the accents in the beginning
Good intonation during the rest of the peace

good comments:
– from measures 1-17 were all on tempo and together
-25 to 27 and 104 to 107 have clear beats of silence with out anyone playing on the rests
negative comments:
– over time the main eight note melody got weaker and didn’t have continuous energy
– the transition from measure 63 to 64 from pizzicato was not clear. People were not able to get to the bow in the one quarter note rest
– In most parts of the songs such as 17 to 25 where the second violins play the melody, the dynamics are not well. The rest of the sections seem to be at the same level dynamic.
Measures 25 to 32 could be a little needs to be in tune more.
I think we did a good job staying together
The beginning sounded good
We could be a little more in tune in measures 15 to 24
The accents at the beginning are clear
25-28 sounds really good
Dynamics need work
Intonation needs work on shifting parts
*Violas did a good job of staying together from 30-32
*Cellos did a good job of staying together overall
*Firsts need to count at 27-28
*Firsts need to count more at 34-41
1. We came in strong in the first few measures.
2. Our dynamics were good during the right note section at the beginning.
1. The first violin shifting in measure 78 could work on intonation and pitch.
2. Towards measure 92-94 we kind of fell apart as far as rhythms goes.
The accents were good in the beginning
The begging 1-9 was pretty good
At the ending everyone needs to look up because we weren’t together
The dynamics could be more emphasized
•The beginning was a great start
•The cellos we’re good at measures 29-32
• We need to be able to hear the dynamics more clearly (Mostly all measures)
• The first need to work a little more at 91-97
Overall was great!
-The pizzicato was very well put together
-I could hear the violas and they were very loud and strong
-The beginning could be more in tune (1-9)
-We could work on dynamics
– we all played the beginning part together
– pizzicato part was good
– we could have better accents for measures 1- 17
– more dynamics would make the music better
– Our accented parts are good
– Our intonation was good for the most part.
– Violas should work on getting the 3rd finger G’s in tune throughout the entire piece.
– Everyone was a little off tempo at all of the plucking parts.
*We did well with the accents at the beginning.
*The pizzicato starting at 33 was in tune and together.
*Measure 8 into 9 needs to be clearer.
*The shifting section (9-24) needs to be better in tune and more together.
Melody was good
First 16 measures were good
Cellos need to work on intonation at measures 29-30
Cellos need to pluck louder at measures 17-25
-accents are good all throughout
-we were all together at 25 & 26
-need to count at 41-49
-weren’t together at 96-100
we start out with good accents
cellos brought the heat 🔥
we all need to end together on the last note of the piece on 109
first violins need to be better in tune on the shifting parts
stayed together for most of the piece.
dynamics could have been used more in measures 88-96 for firsts
ending note sounds good
better intonation for 81-90 for first violin

Cellos sound very good on 30-80, did piano very nicely at 33
Violas sounded very in tune and together at 80-88
Violins in tune at the transition to 9

-we need work on being in tune collectively
-1-17 was good tempo and together

-dynamics throughout the song were good but later on as the song progressed the dynamics became less noticeable
-2nd violin pizzicato wasn’t all together

Dynamics are really good 1-17
25-31 is together
41-piz could be more together
Starting back at 64 everyone wasnt together
Constructive:
-all the dynamics from measure 1-16 were not very exaggerated
-cellos sounded slurred together at measures 29-32
Positive:
-the accents were more pronounced at measures 72-79
– the eighth notes with all the sections were all together at measures 104-106
Constructive: measure 8 first violins weren’t together, first violins in 87 are not playing the notes (and if they are, its very quiet and barely even noticeable), the last note could use a little more work
Positive: The notes are mainly all in tune, and the accents are more obvious in measures 1-8, 64-72, and 88-96
Violas should work on staying in tune, towards the end we should try to stay together.
There was good accents and the beginning started off well.
Positive:
-the accents were very dramatic
-together at the beginning
Constructive:
-violin 1 needs to not rush on pizz.
-notes needs to be in tune
