You will have a playing test due on Monday September 28, 2015 by 10:50am.
Please prepare the excerpts below and video record your excerpt and send it to: lassiterorchestras@gmail.com. If you have any technical difficulties, please let us know as soon as possible (before Monday) so that you can record your assignment during class on Monday September 28. Please make sure that the video frame shows your left and right hands along with your face.
How to Submit Video:
This guide is designed to help you with the online submission of your playing test. You will be required to submit a video recording of yourself playing the excerpts outlined below.
Please title your video for your orchestra, instrument and name as follows:
- “FreshPhil_Instrument_Last Name_First Name” for Freshman Philharmonic
- “Sinfonia_Instrument_Last Name_First Name” for Sinfonia
- “SE_Instrument_Last Name_First Name” for String Ensemble
- “Chamber I_Instrument_Last Name_First Name” for Chamber I
- “Chamber II_Instrument_Last Name_First Name” for Chamber II
Be sure to mark your video as unlisted so that it is not searchable on YouTube. (Please note that the video recording must have your whole body with your instrument in the video frame.)
Step 1: Sign up for a YouTube account.
- If you already use Gmail or have a YouTube account, please sign into YouTube and skip to Step 2. If you do not have a gmail account or a YouTube account, please go to: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/161805?hl=en to sign up for a free account.
Step 2: Record Video Excerpt
- Be sure that your video recording is compatible with YouTube’s file formats which can be found here: https://support.google.com/youtube/troubleshooter/2888402?hl=en
Step 3: Upload to YouTube
- To upload, please follow the directions here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/57924?hl=en
- Make your video “Unlisted” so that it is not searchable by the rest of the world. Please avoid making your video private as this will not allow us to view the video recording. Marking it Unlisted will allow us to view the video and not allow others to search for your video.
- After Uploading has successfully completed, please highlight the link to the video and send an email to: lassiterorchestras@gmail.com (This will ensure that your video is viewable)
