Thank you Ms. Doemel, Mr. Mori, Ms. Kemp, and the elite group of clinicians who so generously gave 100% over the course of 10 hours at Orchestra Camp this weekend! Students, you are to be commended for your outstanding efforts. Your hard work is already beginning to pay off. You sound fabulous!
Thank you to the student officers for the great decorations and entertaining Alice in Wonderland theme; to Tina Williford for all your time and efforts shopping for and feeding 12 clinicians and 170 students over the course of two days, the food was delicious, nutritious, and very much appreciated by all. Thanks to parent volunteers: Sharon Powers, Betty Vogel, Audrey Donahue, Susie Carson, Michelle Tisdale, Cindy Kraft, Heather Weiss, Laurie McGillis, and LHSOA board members Diana Yuen, Sharon Saxton, Ajit Kahaduwe, Gene Denny-Lybbert, Tina Jacobs, Amy Warner and Jon Warner who gave their time to make sure camp was organized, the students and clinicians remained fed, hydrated and where they needed to be. Thank you to Kim Jones, Mike Jones, Dalia Chadha, Chris Lindell and Daniel Flohr for chaperoning the Bowling Party. A special thanks, to Richard Stavis for making all the arrangements for an “AWESOME!” bowling party at Stars & Strikes. And, thank you to Greg Watson for taking such wonderful pictures of the weekend for our archives, which you may see on the LHSOA Photo Webpage.
Many of you inquired about the costs of the clinicians, bowling, pizza, laser tag, and transportation, and you asked about writing a check; the entire event was paid for by the LHSOA! We were only able to do that with the generous support of parents who paid their registration fee. So a BIG “Thank You” to all of you!!
I am onto the next exciting event and I am actively recruiting Host families. If you are able to host two or more student musicians visiting Lassiter from the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Uruguay, please let me know. They will be staying one night: Tuesday, September 29.
Thanks, and if you have any questions, please reach out to me at events@lhsoa.org.
Yours sincerely,
Ida Anderson
