Just a few reminders about our final week before break.  We have LGPE and the end of a 6-week grading period!

LGPE Reminders
  • All students must ride the bus to, and from Walton, no exceptions. This has been communicated to me by our administration and needs to be adhered to. Students choosing to provide other means of transportation will not be allowed to perform.
  • All students must be in full concert black uniform.  This includes shoes and socks that are completely black. Those wearing shirt and slacks MUST have a tie. 
  • For groups that perform in the evening, Philharmonia and chamber, the LHSOA will provide a pizza, dinner and water for students.
  • LGPE is a MAJOR grade and a double multiplier assignment in the grade book.
  • I'm still missing several permission forms that allow students to ride the bus and attend LGPE. Parents, please log into parent view and complete the online permission form.  Several emails reminders have been sent from the district Passport system.  Directions are below.

Parents, Please come to LGPE!
Please come to our LGPE performances at Walton HS if you are able to make it.  We'd love to have a big audience! These performances are FREE and open to the public!
Here are our group's performance times:
  • Sinfonia – Monday, 2/10 at 4:10 PM
  • Chamber – Monday, 2/10 at 8:10 PM
  • Concert – Tuesday, 2/11 at 10:30 AM
  • Philharmonia – Tuesday, 2/11 at 6:30 PM
If you are coming to watch Concert Orchestra, you will need to check in at the Walton Front office.  Please arrive early and bring ID.

End of Grading Period / Assignments
Please note that the final day to turn in any assignments/late work is Sunday, February 9.  After this day, late work will not be accepted and a permanent zero will remain in the grade book for those missing assignments.
Field Trip Permission Form Directions

Steps to complete the online Field Trip permission form on ParentVue
1. Log in to ParentVue on a web browser (not the phone app). https://parentvue.cobbk12.org/PXP2_Login.aspx
2. On the left hand side, select Family Information Guide. Click on it (it’s a white box), click ACKNOWLEDGE at the top. Once you’ve done this step, you don’t have to do it again. 
3. On the left hand side, select Student Information
4. Select Student Field Trip Permission
5. Field Trips will be green and it will say “action required”
6. Complete all fields and save after each section. 
7. For other trips, the information should pre-populate.
Auditions for 2025-2026

Auditions for 2025-2026 will be coming soon!  Materials will be released before break and there will be a few minor changes with our course offerings next year:

  • Concert Orchestra will be a 9th grade-only, NON-AUDITIONED orchestra. (Rising freshmen can still audition)
  • Philharmonia will be a 10th-12th grade, NON-AUDITIONED orchestra.
  • Sinfonia will be grades 9-12, "Junior Varsity" Orchestra with admittance by audition.
  • Chamber will be grades 9-12, "Varsity" Orchestra with admittance by audition.
These changes will allow students who choose not to audition to have a fun, non-competitive orchestra environment while allowing students who wish to do more to audition for Sinfonia or Chamber orchestra.

  • March 28-30 – Dollywood Trip (select students already confirmed)
  • Tuesday, April 22 – "A Night at the Movies and more!" Spring Concert, 7:00 PM
  • Saturday, May 3 – Awards Banquet, Mt. Zion UMC, 5:30 PM
