Taken too soon
The LHSOA would like to recognize the loss of Griffin Alexander Kraft. The Kraft family is a big part of our organization. We’ve had the pleasure of Griffin’s membership last year as well as our current member Savannah Kraft. Griffin touched so many lives and his music was one of his beloved activities.
Please keep the Kraft Family in your thoughts. Contributions can be made to Boy Scout Troop 714 or Mill Springs Academy. We realize this is a difficult time for our LHSOA family and would like to take this opportunity to state how each of you matter in our lives.
President’s Corner…On behalf of all the orchestra families, I would like to extend appreciation to our wonderful orchestra directors, Carol Doemel and Koji Mori, and to our awesome parent volunteers for organizing a fabulous Night at the Movies concert. It’s been a rough few days for our orchestra family here at Lassiter and everyone pulled together with both grace and a sense of purpose to allow our kids to perform what was a fabulous concert. Our student officers also did a great job under rough circumstances to organize the entertaining vignettes, and to ensure all their sections were prepared for the evening as well.
Our parent officers are true gems, and I want to thank the following people who are rotating off the Board for all the extra time and effort behind the scenes so that our kids continue to have the best experience and our orchestra directors can maximize their time on working with our musicians:
Ida Anderson, VP of Events
Gene Denney-Lybbert, Secretary
Diana Yuen, Co-Treasurer
Kim Jones, Fundraising
Mike Jones, Logistics
Amy Warner, Lassiter String Academy
Betty Vogel, Hospitality
I would also like to thank all the parents who volunteer time in short bursts to help with events; there is no way we can manage without you. Over the next few weeks we will begin to transition the aforementioned key roles to our new parent volunteer officers – please show them how much their time and efforts are appreciated by volunteering on the sign-up sheets during our Orchestra Registration Night for next semester.
Musically yours,
Jonathan Warner
