A Night of Classics – Dec 13th, 7 PM

Please invite friends and family to the Lassiter Orchestra’s Annual “A Night of Classics”. All 4 orchestras are preparing wonderful music for this yearly concert. Our Lassiter Symphonic Band I students join us with the Lassiter Symphony performing the Finale from Dvorak’s most notable work, the New World Symphony. Our families “ring in the season” with a wonderful Holiday Bake Sale presented before the concert in the Lassiter Concert Hall lobby.
Happy Holidays!

Important>>Please check that your son/daughter has a COMPLETE uniform.  Boys attire should include concert formals, bowtiec, Cummerbund, socks and shoes. Some uniforms were left behind following yearbook pictures in October. Email Ms. Doemel ASAP if your child is missing any part of their uniform.

Update on Cruise trip

The Lassiter Orchestra Spring Cruise Trip is scheduled for March 29 – April 3, 2017. Payment #3 is due Jan 13.

Students performing should have a valid passport. A copy of the picture page is due Feb 1st, 2017.

Carnival Cruise Spring Trip Meeting was on Tuesday, November 15 Update: 2017 Cruise Trip Information Packet

For students & chaperones making this trip

It is highly recommended those traveling internationally possess a valid U.S. Passport, even though the rules require only a birth certificate and a photo ID for cruises sailing a closed circuit from the U.S. (meaning the ship departs and arrives back to the U.S. following all port calls). Having a passport will make life a lot easier if the ship needs to travel to a different port other than what is on the itinerary due to weather, or if a flight home from Nassau becomes necessary in the event of an emergency. Applying for a passport is easy and can be done online here.
It is also recommended that travelers have a passport photo taken by AAA Auto Club on Gordy Parkway, another travel agent, or a drugstore such as Walgreens or CVS for around $10. The State Department website has a self-photo tool, but it is a challenge to use and there have been instances of applications being returned due to invalid photos. For those who have a passport, please ensure it does not expire within 6 months of our return from the trip. It takes about 6 weeks to process a passport application.

Please make all checks for the trip payable to LHSOA with your child’s name in the memo and a payment coupon, and turn in to the brown drop box it in the front of the orchestra room or mail them to:

LGPE Volunteers needed

Lassiter will be hosting the Large Group Performance Evaluations once again February 13-15, 2017. We are in need of two LGPE chair persons to help us organize this event. In addition we will need as many volunteers as possible to work a shift during the 3 day event held on campus at Lassiter. We will have 16 high school orchestra programs coming in and out of our campus and can not accomplish the logistics of running such an event without our wonderful orchestra family’s help. As we are in the beginning stages of organizing the event, more information will come regarding specific shifts and jobs associated with the event. Thank you for your consideration in helping us host this event.

Teen nights @ ASO
