Important Parent Meeting: All LHS Orchestra Families, including rising Freshman families, will meet in the Concert Hall VIP Reception Room, located in the lobby of the concert hall on Monday, May 9th at 6:00 pm for 90 minutes. We will discuss our results for the year in a general meeting, and then discuss our volunteer and fiduciary needs for the coming year. Following the General Business Meeting, the Board and officers will discuss plans for our final activity of the year, the Orchestra Banquet. We will then wrap-up with a breakout session for parents who wish to become more involved in the LHSOA by volunteering for a position. Light refreshments will be served for those who stay later to express an interest in an officer or Board position. Please come – we need you!

A Few Key Immediate Needs:

Treasurer: Are you an accounting professional who knows Quick Books? Have you managed the treasury before in your student’s scout/dance/drama troupe? We are in need of a Treasurer! This is a key position on the Executive Board and our first priority to fill.

Fundraising Chair: Fall Orchestra Camp, Spring Orchestra Camp, End of Year Banquet, Varsity Letters, etc. etc., All of this takes real money! We need a Fundraising Officer to plan and make it all go. Please let this be you and send an email to fundraising@lhsoa.org to express interest.

Communications Officer: Working with all of our communications tools: CHARMS, Mail Chimp, Facebook, and coordinating with the Webmaster, making certain everyone is current on orchestra matters is a critical function. If you can communicate well, enjoy being creative, have computer literacy to learn these various applications (I assure you its easy because I do it!), and enjoy working with others, this is the job for you. Please reach out to me directly at communications@lhsoa.org.

Night at the Movies Raffle and Silent Auction

Thank you to our wonderful Lassiter Orchestra community for coming out for a fantastic concert of film scores featuring our talented string and band musicians. We especially appreciate our senior class for their contributions to the orchestra program during their tenure here at Lassiter.

As you all know we can only offer our orchestra directors, Ms. Doemel and Mr. Mori, funding opportunities for extracurricular programming to the extent we have the budget to grant their requests. The monies raised will fund instruments and repairs, sheet music, clinicians, conference fees, and other activities that enhance the musical development of our students. Thank you to all of you who participated.
