“A Night at the Movies!” and 2016 Silent Auction
Please join the Lassiter Orchestra at our major community event, “A Night at the Movies!”. Enjoy film clips from blockbuster movies and hear your favorite film scores performed by the Lassiter Orchestra.
We will also do some fundraising with a raffle and silent auction. Raffle Tickets are $5 each at the door. Each person who has purchased two raffle tickets may be admitted to the concert hall before the concert hall doors open to place a RESERVED sign on the seat of his/her choice. For $20, you can receive five raffle tickets and two reserved seat signs. Raffle and auction winners will be announced between orchestra sets during the concert.
We will be taking credit cards and checks for raffle tickets and items won in the silent auction.
The concert hall lobby opens at 6:00 pm for the raffle ticket sale and silent auction browsing, and the concert will begin at 7:00 pm.

Please email Kim Jones at jones.kimberly@me.com if other arrangements need to be made.
Important LHSO Parent Meeting
Important Parent Meeting: All current and future LHS Orchestra Families will meet in the orchestra room on Monday, May 9th at 6:00 pm for 90 minutes. If you have an interest in becoming more involved by serving in a position, or just to lend a hand next year, please come check it out. We will schedule some mini-breakouts for more intimate chats on what we do for those who have specific interests. Besides, I hear there will be snacks!
While Mr. Mori and Ms. Doemel are sweating it out in rehearsals, there is a group of parent volunteers who love their orchestra – we know you want to be part of this exclusive group! We have some very talented parents of seniors who are rotating off both the Board and the slate of officers, but we are excited that we have some very eager parents of current students who want to play an active role and help make a difference in the Lassiter Orchestra organization. Whether you would like a named position, or you just want to help-out with clinics, fundraisers, and events, we have plenty to do to ensure our students get the best possible orchestra experience here at Lassiter High School.
A Few Key Immediate Needs:
Treasurer: Are you an accounting professional who knows Quick Books? Have you managed the treasury before in your student’s scout/dance/drama troupe? We are in need of a Treasurer! This is a key position on the Executive Board and our first priority to fill.
Fundraising Chair: Fall Orchestra Camp, Spring Orchestra Camp, End of Year Banquet, Varsity Letters, etc. etc., All of this takes real money! We need a Fundraising Officer to plan and make it all go. Please let this be you and send an email tofundraising@lhsoa.org to express interest.
Communications Officer: If everyone is in-the-know, then everyone knows! This is the coolest job in the orchestra (if I say so myself :-)). Working with all of our communications tools: CHARMS, Mail Chimp, Facebook, and coordinating with the Webmaster, making certain everyone is current on orchestra matters is a critical function. If you can communicate well, enjoy being creative, have computer literacy to learn these various applications (I assure you its easy because I do it!), and enjoy working with others, this is the job for you. And, to see someone take what we started and make it better would make Newsletter Guy a happy orchestra peep. Please reach out ot me directly at communications@lhsoa.org.
