Welcome National Youth Orchestra of Uruguay, Sep 29th

The National Youth Orchestra of Uruguay will swing through Georgia this month on their way to their final tour stop at Carnegie Hall, NY.  The orchestra is in the process of making some last-minute changes to their travel schedule, so please look for both additional information in the coming days about their hosting needs for the visit and a SAVE THE DATE.  Check them out here: Orquesta Juvenil del Sodre.  Please contact Ida Anderson for more information.

Bruster’s Fundraiser is Over

Last Friday was collection day and we still have students who owe money or unsold booklets. We will be back in the orchestra room this Friday morning at 7:40 for a final collection and accounting.  All unsold booklets will be returned to Bruster’s next Friday – students who still have unsold booklets after Friday will be responsible for submitting payment to the LHSOA. Please plan to be there if you still owe money or booklets.

Formal/Casual Concert Attire

Everyone should have placed their order for concert attire.  If you have not done this, get ‘er done!  You may download the order form here, or you may visit the uniform section on our website for more detailed information.

Homecoming Pizza Party and Help Needed

Come out and cheer-on the Orchestra Float in the Lassiter Homecoming Parade, next Friday, September 18th.  All Orchestra students are invited to stop-by the orchestra room for a pregame pizza party after the parade and before the game begins.

Please help us pull our Orchestra Homecoming Float using your truck with a trailer hitch and a boat, or a truck with flatbed.

Also, parent volunteers are need to help paint the driveways of our seniors – this is an honor and a lot of fun.  Please contact Ida Anderson to find out how you can help with these.

Its Cold and Flu Season Again

As we near the time of sneezes and sniffles, the orchestra directors have asked each member to bring-in a box of tissues seeing that there is no current musical notation for a sneeze in the current literature. Thanks for you help!
